Nathan Brasz competed in the two day event at Round 4 of XDC in Englishtown, New Jersey. The event hosted nearly 5,000 spectators at Englishtown Raceway. During practice on Friday, Nathan looked very comfortable while feeling out the track, correcting a few small details as the day went on.
The qualifying rounds were later in the day. Nathan’s first qualifying run seemed flawless until the last turn of the long and difficult course, making a minor mistake he was left unsatisfied. The pressure was really on as he prepared for his second qualifying run. This time, his run seemed effortless and was more to his satisfaction. The judges awarded Nathan 5th place for qualifying, lining him up with Formula D driver, Doug Van Den Brink, for the first round of the top 16.
While Englishtown Raceway began to fill with spectators, the Brasz Racing/Cooper Tires team were ready to compete and confident in Nathan and the car. As both, Nathan and Doug, laid down impressive runs the judges decided to give them the one more time vote. Nathan then stepped it up for the next round and knocked out Van Den Brink. Nate went on to defeat Patrick Cyr in the next round. Overall, giving better chase and obtaining more angle than Cyr.
Nathan then went on to the next round where he was up against Nate Hamilton. He prepared to face Hamilton, knowing this would be an all or nothing run considering he was competing against the number one qualifier. Nathan followed first, staying close as Hamilton tried to out drive him. Nathan lead Hamilton next, laying down his best run of the day, getting extremely close to all the clipping points and scraping the banked wall. He defeated the first placequalifier andmoved on to the final round to compete against Matt Waldin.
The final round, Nathan Brasz versus Matt Waldin, was intense and suspenseful. As Nathan
followed first, both competitors gave an exceptional performance. Switching positions, Nathan tried to leave Matt in his smoke, but Matt gave great chase. The judges than announced the results, giving Matt Waldin first place, and NathanBrasz second place.

U.S. AIR FORCE PROJECT: SUPERCAR
Do you fly them or drive them?
Two expert teams put Air Force technology into everyday sports cars and make them Supercars.
Project: Supercar
We took seven highly skilled Airmen with expertise ranging from electronics to metalwork and teamed them up with world-renowned car customizers Galpin Auto Sports of MTV’s Pimp My Ride, led by Mad Mike, a former Airman, to create two first-of-their-kind supercars that fused Air Force technology with American sports cars.
The Supercars tour the country in customized trailers designed to emphasize the impact of receiving mechanical and technical training in the Air Force. Each trailer is outfitted with the latest technology and guides potential recruits through the story of Project: Supercar.
